Help for Wounded Warriors at the Prince William Animal Shelter

The shelter works with the military to place dogs with veterans who have PTSD or traumatic brain injuries.

The Prince William County Animal Shelter is offering wounded warriors an opportunity to find a working partner free of cost.

This video from Prince William County details how the program works. The Prince William Humane Society pays the adoption fee, in addition to the cost of spay or neutering for a dog that is 2 to 4 years old. The shelter then works with the Navy, Army, Marines and Wounded Warriors to place the dogs with veterans who have traumatic brain injuries or post-traumatic stress disorder.
