Police: Man Broke Into Woodbridge Home, Assaulted Acquaintance

A Woodbridge man faces charges after he allegedly broke inside the home of an acquaintance and threw her to the ground, Prince William County Police said.

Efrain Romero Vega, 29, of Jefferson Davis Highway, is charged with burglary with intent to commit a misdemeanor.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman, told police that she was asleep inside her home on the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway on Sunday at 2:12 a.m., when Vega entered her bedroom. They had an "altercation" over property at that point, said police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok.

"During the altercation, the accused threw the victim to the ground. The accused eventually fled the residence when the victim called police. Officers determined that the accused made entry into the residence through a window," Perok said in a press release.

The victim did not report any injuries. Vega was arrested without incident the next day.
