Burglaries: Laptop, Jewelry and a Yacht's CB Radio Stolen

Prince William County Police release details on recent break-ins in Woodbridge, Dumfries and Triangle.

Three area residents came home to find their residences burglarized in recent days, according to Prince William County Police spokesman Jonathan Perok. Officers responded at 11:13 p.m. Friday night to a residential burglary call in the 2000 block of Horizon Court in Woodbridge. The burglary reportedly occured earlier in the night. With no signs of forced entry, it is believed the burglar entered through an unlocked door. Jewelry valued at $645 was reported missing. On Saturday night, officers responded to the 18400 block of Woodland Drive in Triangle in response to a burglary that occured between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. Police found a rear door had been forced open. Police: Man Wanted in Abduction, Assault of Dumfries Woman

Domestic incident ended with victim calling 9-1-1, suspect fleeing with her laptop, according to Prince William County Police.

Prince William County Police investigators are searching for a man in the alleged abduction and assault of a Dumfries woman, according to police spokesperson Jonathan Perok. Isaac Afriyie Sarpong, 25, is wanted on charges of abduction, domestic assault and battery, preventing a call to 9-1-1 and grand larceny. Aside from the attached photo of Sarpong (Dec. 2012), police describe the suspect as a black male, 5’4”, 130lbs, with a thin build, light complexion, short, black hair and brown eyes. Police responded at 1:10 p.m. Friday to the 3100 block of Chesapeake Drive regarding a domestic dispute. The victim, 22, told police that she was in an argument with Sarpong. Victim Catches Burglars Trying to Kick in Door

Dumfries resident calls police after two men fled on foot Wednesday, according to Prince William County Police.

A Dumfries resident thwarted two would-be burglars when he caught them trying to kick in his rear door on Wednesday, according to Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok. Police responded to the home at 3:14 p.m. Wednesday in the 16200 block of Taconic Circle. The homeowner told police the two men fled on foot after failing to get into the house. No property was missing. A search with a police K-9 unit was unsuccessful. The two suspects are identified as black males, between 18 and 25 years old, 6'0", with a thin build. Both were last seen wearing a black colored hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Armed Robbers Take $6,000 in 7-Eleven Cigarettes

Prince William County Police searching for three suspects in Dumfries incident.

Prince William County Police officers are on the lookout for three suspects in the armed robbery of a Dumfries 7-Eleven early Wednesday morning, according to police spokesman Jonathan Perok. Police responded at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday to the store at 17360 Dumfries Road. Employees told officers that three unknown men were involved in the crime. One of the men had a handgun and ordered the employees to the floor, Perok said. A second suspect took several cartons of cigarettes valued at $6,000 and the three men fled on foot. Man Charged With Walking in Traffic, Assaulting Officer

Prince William County Police: Man struck officer in the face multiple times.

Prince William County Police arrested a man Saturday, but not before he allegedly assaulted an officer, according to police spokesman Jonathan Perok. Terell Keenan Crews, 26, of 12661 Dulcinea Place, is charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and careless interference with traffic.  Officers responded to the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Dumfries Road at 12:55 p.m. Saturday regarding a call of a disorderly subject walking in traffic and kicking cars. According to Perok, officers identifed Crews, but he refused to step out of the street. In an attempt to detain Crews, the man actively resisted and struck one of the officers in the face multiple times, according to police. "…

Traffic Alert: Water Main Break on Route 1 in Dumfries

Drivers are advised to use alternative routes.

A water main break has prompted the closure of one northbound lane on Route 1 in Dumfries. Prince William County Police posted on their Facebook page Monday morning that the break was at Jefferson Davis Highway and Old Stagecoach Road in the town of Dumfries. "Drivers can expect delays and are encouraged to avoid the area if possible," according to the police department.

Dumfries' Kendall Marshall Goes to the Suns

The University of North Carolina sophomore was the 13th overall pick by the Phoenix Suns.

The Phoenix Suns selected Dumfries' own Kendall Marshall in the 2012 NBA draft on Thursday night. According to SB Nation Arizona, Marshall was chosen by the Suns with the 13th overall pick.   Marshall attended Bishop O'Connell and just completed his sophomore season at the University of North Carolina. He averaged 8.1 points and 9.8 assists per game for the Tar Heels this past season. An article on Nola.com said that Marshall participated in a pre-draft workout with the New Orleans Hornets over the weekend; the Hornets had the first pick in the draft and used it to select Anthony Davis from Kentucky.

If your windows are shaking and you are hearing booms this week, it's probably because of Quantico Marine Corps Base. The base is doing explosive munitions training at various times this week. Overcast weather conditions make the sound and vibrations travel farther. Fight at Gar-Field Results in Dumfries Shooting

Police have arrested the suspect.

Editor's Note: a previous version of this article stated there were three fights. Police issued a correction. Kamara has been arrested without incident Prince William County Police are looking for a man that allegedly was involved in a Dumfries shooting Friday night. Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said that earlier in the night a large fight broke out after a Gar-Field Senior High School basketball game. Police broke up and dispersed the fight, after which several juveniles regrouped at Potomac Mills Mall no fights were reported at the mall.
