Sentencing Friday in Murder For $1 Million Insurance Policy

Jung Min Jun, of Fresh Meadows, N.Y. pleaded guilty in November in Prince William County Circuit Court to murdering his brother-in-law.

A New York man will face sentencing at 2 p.m. Friday in Prince William County Circuit Court in the 2011 murder of Kwang Sup Hur, of Dale City.  Jung Min Jun, 59, of Fresh Meadows, N.Y. pleaded guilty in November to mudering his elderly brother-in-law in an attempt to collect on a $1 million insurance policy that would have been paid out to his son.  "Yes, I'm guilty," Jun told the judge, through an interpreter at a court appearance last year.  The case shocked the residents of the River Run Senior Apartments in September 2011, when Hur's wife found him dead in their home. Court records show that Ho Young Jun—the son of Jung Min Jun and Jung Ok Jun—had obtained a $1 million life insurance policy on Hur a few years back. The three Juns …

Man Pleads Guilty to Murdering Dale City Resident for $1 Million Life Insurance Payout

Jung Min Jun, of Fresh Meadows, N.Y. pleaded guilty Tuesday in Prince William County Circuit Court to murdering his brother-in-law.

A New York man pleaded guilty Tuesday to murdering his elderly brother-in-law in an attempt to collect on a $1 million insurance policy that would have been paid out to his son.  Jung Min Jun, 59, a Korean citizen and former resident of Fresh Meadows, N.Y., pleaded guilty Tuesday in Prince William County Circuit Court to the 2011 murder of Kwang Sup Hur, of Dale City. Murder Charges Dropped After Woman Pleads Guilty to Obstruction

All jail time was suspended for Jung Ok Jun, whose husband and son are accused of murdering her brother-in-law for the insurance money.

A woman initially charged with the 2011 murder of a relative at the River Run senior apartments in Dale City will walk free after pleading guilty to obstruction of justice.  Prince William County Circuit Court Judge William Hamblen on Monday sentenced Jung Ok Jun, of Fresh Meadows, NY, to 180 days, but all time is suspended. She will not serve any further jail time, but must complete a year's probation. Jung Ok Jun was initially charged with murder in the death of her brother-in-law, 75-year-old Kwang Sup Hur, but prosecutors amended the charge to the misdemeanor on Monday.  Jung Ok Jun did not speak at the hearing, other than to say and spell her name. Her husband, Jung Min Jun, is scheduled to stand trial on Nov. 26 for allegedly …
