Not Guilty Verdict in Dale City Murder Trial

A Prince William County Circuit Court jury found Ho Young Jun not guilty of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Kwang Sup Hur.

A Prince William County Circuit Court jury has ruled that a man accused of killing his uncle for a $1 million life insurance policy is not guilty of the crime.  After a three day trial, the jury of five women and seven men found late Wednesday that Ho Young Jun, 28, was not guilty on the charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.  Ho Young Jun's father, Jung Min Jun, pleaded guilty in November to the 2011 murder of Kwang Sup Hur, at Hur's residence in the River Run Senior Apartments in Dale City. Ho Young Jun's mother, Jung Ok Jun, pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice last year. Jung Min Jun, who has pleaded guilty to the murder of a Dale City man, testified in Prince William County Circuit Court on Tuesday that his son wasn't involved in the crime.

UPDATED: Not guilty verdict in murder trial Convicted killer Jung Min Jun testified in Prince William County Circuit Court on Tuesday that he killed a relative out of rage over family issues, not a desire to collect on a $1 million insurance policy—and that his son, who is on trial for murder, had nothing to do with the crime.  Prosecutors allege that the son, Ho Young Jun, conspired with his father to bring about the 2011 death of their relative, Kwang Sup Hur, in Dale City. During his testimony Tuesday, Jung Min Jun said that the murder was the result of years of family rancor, not greed.   "It was just an accident that happened out of a fit," Jung Min Jun testified through an interpreter, recalling how he strangled the 5'4", 105 pound …

UPDATED: Not guilty verdict in murder trial A few years after he moved to the United States from Korea, Ho Young Jun moved in with his elderly uncle, who taught the teenager how to fish, drive a car and open a bank account.  Now prosecutors allege that, as an adult, the young man conspired with his father to murder his uncle, Kwang Sup Hur, of Dale City, in order to cash in on a $1 million insurance policy. His trial on charges of first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder opened Monday. "Sometimes when morality and decency butt up against greed, greed wins. And on September 1, 2011, greed won," Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney James Willett said, during opening arguments.  Murder for money? Ho Young Jun's father, Jung Min Jun, …
