Police said that graffiti did not pose a credible threat.
Prince William County Police have arrested a 15-year-old Woodbridge teen and charged him with threats to bomb after graffiti was found at Hylton High School. PWC Police public information officer Jonathan Perok said that school authorities informed police of graffiti found in the boys’ restroom on May 11. “The graffiti implied there was a bomb in the school,” said Perok in a release. “Following an investigation, police were able to learn who was responsible for writing the threat in the bathroom. There was not a credible threat and posed no danger to other students.” The teen’s court date was unavailable. He is being held at a juvenile detention facility. ________ Get daily and breaking news email updates from Woodbridge Patch by signing…

Teacher gifts that aren't complex or expensive, but say a whole lot.
First dose of immunization must be given before child enters sixth grade.
From Prince William County Schools: During May, Prince William County elementary schools will send home a letter from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) providing information on human papillomavirus (HPV) and the human papillomavirus vaccine. State law requires this information be provided to parents of rising sixth grade girls. The letter from Dr. Karen Remley, state health commissioner, is written in English and Spanish and, for the fourth consecutive year, includes answers to the most frequently asked questions. The HPV vaccine series, which is administered in three evenly-spaced doses, is optional for female students. The first dose must be given before the child enters sixth grade. Unlike other required vaccines, after reviewing…

Woodbridge Senior High softball team loses three straight to reach a record of .500.
The Woodbridge Senior High School varsity softball team dropped three straight games last week and is now fourth in the Cardinal District. Despite the .500 record and the team's current slump, the Vikings have talented players at all positions and could be championship contenders if they only remained consistent with their efforts. Senior Lindsey Slover, starting pitcher and one of the team captains, showed signs of brilliance and composure as she pitched her way out of multiple bases-loaded situations against Gar-Field and Forest Park. She also had a fairly decent week at the plate, with the best day being against Stonewall Jackson when she hit three for four, walked once, and stole a base. Slover has committed to play at Ferrum College …

International Baccalaureate program prepares them for success on and off the court.
