Dale City Crime: Late Night ABC Store Burglary

Store is missing $100 worth of liquor.

Police are looking for two men that allegedly burglarized the Dale City ABC Store in the early hours of May 13. Prince William County Police responded to the ABC store at 4255 Chesire Station Plz. At 2:23 a.m. for an alarm. Teen Arrested for Graffiti Bomb Threats to School

Police said that graffiti did not pose a credible threat.

Prince William County Police have arrested a 15-year-old Woodbridge teen and charged him with threats to bomb after graffiti was found at Hylton High School. PWC Police public information officer Jonathan Perok said that school authorities informed police of graffiti found in the boys’ restroom on May 11. “The graffiti implied there was a bomb in the school,” said Perok in a release. “Following an investigation, police were able to learn who was responsible for writing the threat in the bathroom. There was not a credible threat and posed no danger to other students.”  The teen’s court date was unavailable. Four Wanted in Dale City Rec Center Robbery

Teen made arrangements through social media to buy shoes.

A 15-year-old Woodbridge boy’s cell phone and money were allegedly stolen from him May 9 after he made arrangements through social media to buy shoes at the Dale City Recreation Center. The teen told police he made arrangements to meet the unknown man for an in-person purchase. Police reports said the man arrived in a vehicle and while the teen was speaking to the man, three other unknown males emerged from a vehicle. Prince William County Police public information officer Jonathan Perok said one of the men allegedly displayed a handgun and ordered the teen to the ground, took his phone and money before getting into the vehicle and fleeing. Service Honors Fallen Law Enforcement

National Police Week Memorial and Tribute Service paid homage to local heroes who died in the line duty.

Citizens and law enforcement personnel gathered on May 9 in the auditorium of the Dr. A.J. Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge to pay tribute to fifteen local fallen heroes.  This year, Justice of the Peace Thomas S. Meredith was included in the roll call for the first time since his death in 1922.  Fellow officers and a few family members lit a candle and laid a rose on a table to commemorate the sacrifice of Meredith and each of the following: Honored law enforcement members lived or worked in Prince William County. Two Prince William County Employees Charged With Embezzlement

The employees are accused of selling copper wire that belonged to the county.

On May 9, two Prince William County employees were charged with embezzlement after an incident in which they allegedly took and sold copper wire belonging to the county, police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. Detectives from the Property Crimes Unit began investigating the embezzlement allegations on April 16. "The investigation revealed that on March 15th of 2012, a large quantity of copper wiring was removed from the George T. Owens Building located at 3 County Complex Ct in Prince William," Perok said. "Between February and March of 2012, the below listed suspects reportedly removed copper wiring belonging to the county. The suspects allegedly stole the wire and sold if for scrap." Police Searching for Stabbing Suspect

Following information comes from the Prince William County Police Department.

Prince William County police are looking for a stabbing suspect after a Washington, D.C. male was allegedly injured in the arm and chest. Police reports said that they responded to the 1300 block of East Longview Drive on May 8 at 8:16 p.m. where the victim, 19, told police he was in the area when an unknown man approached him and an altercation ensued.  “During the encounter, the accused allegedly displayed an unknown sharp instrument and attempted to stab the victim,” said Prince William County Police Public Information Officer Jonathan Perok. “Following the altercation, the accused fled the scene.”  The victim was treated at an area hospital for superficial injuries to the arm and chest. The event honors 14 men who lived or served in Prince William County and gave their lives while fulfilling their duties.

Dale City Man Charged With Burglary in Lake Ridge

About $2,000 worth of jewelry was stolen. The following arrest information was supplied by the PWC Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Brach Thompson of Dale City was arrested May 6 and charged with burglary after homeowners in the 12400 block of Cavalier Drive reported the loss of about $2,000 worth of jewelry, police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said. The homeowners told police that the burglary happened between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. that same day. When police responded at 7:41 p.m., they found no signs that anyone had broken into the residence. However, the rear door had been left unlocked. After canvassing the neighborhood, police got enough information to identify suspects, and arrested Thompson. Benjamin Libby of Woodbridge is also wanted for this burglary, and has not yet been located. He has been described as a white male, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 140 pounds, of a thin …

Lake Ridge Man Charged With Assault and Battery on Police Officers

He was also charged with DUI, refusal to comply, noise violation, driving on a suspended driver's licence, giving a false ID to a law enforcement officer and possession of Schedule 1 drugs (methamphetamine).

On May 5, Lake Ridge resident Jameel Washington was charged with assault and battery on two law enforcement officers after PWC police reported that he used physical force to resist his arrest, police spokesperson Jonathan Merriman said. The officers first encountered Washington when they approached a vehicle playing loud music on Ensbrook Lake in Dale City at about 9:40 p.m. As they talked with those in the vehicle, the officers could reportedly smell alcohol in open containers. "The driver, Jameel Washington, became very agitated and aggressive during questioning and refused to comply after being told he was under arrest," Merriman said.
