Santa Train Tickets Go on Sale, Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, and More Events this Week

See what's happening this week in Prince William County.

Hannukah begins the evening of Nov. 27 and Thanksgiving is this Thursday. Many government offices will be closed. Schools will only be open half a day on Wednesday. 

The Prince William County Public School district is hosting community meetings on proposed boundary changes for Haymarket Drive Elementary School. The meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Buckland Mills Elementary School on 10511 Wharfdale Place in Gainesville. 

Tickets for the VRE’s annual operation lifesaver Santa Trainsgo on sale at 9 a.m. Monday online or at locations in Woodbridge or Manassas. Children and their parents can ride a train and meet Santa and Mrs. Claus in this annual event. Find out where to get tickets

The Osbourn High School band will be wrapping presentsstarting at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Manassas Mall on 8300 Sudley Road. Students will also be wrapping presents through Dec. 24. 

View a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at Stonebridge at the Potomac Town Center from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at 15151 Potomac Town Place. Check out holiday performances, horse and carriage rides, balloon art, and more. Donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted at the Stonebridge Information Tent.
