The Prince William Art Society meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on 12184 Chaucer Lane in Woodbridge. Artist Marni Maree will demonstrate painting on yupo, a slick plastic surface meant for painting.

Learn more about mapping in Celebration of GIS Day. Learn about GIS and find out how it’s used by local government. The open house is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Development Services Building Room 107, 5 County Complex Court in Woodbridge. 

The Westminster at Lake Ridge community is offering free, confidential memory screenings as part of National Memory Screening Day. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at 12191 Clipper Drive in Lake Ridge. 

The Business Guild of Occoquan is hosting their Holiday Open House from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. At 8:10 p.m., the town Christmas tree will be lit at the Occoquan Town Hall.
