Potomac Crest Baptist Church Taking Item Donations for Flood Victims

You can drop off clothes, toiletry items, gift cards, and other item donations for flood victims at Potomac Crest Baptist Church this week.

on Cardinal Drive is collecting donations this week for local flood victims.

Donations can be dropped off at the church office between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday this week. They need clothes of all sizes, all toiletries, female products, backpacks, gift cards, gas cards, and formula. Monetary donations will also be accepted to help the flood victims pay upcoming bills.

Volunteers are also welcome to help sort the donations and get them ready to take to the Dale City Recreation Center where . If you are interested in volunteering, contact Donna Truslow at 703-730-7222.

“Last Friday we gave away 40 bags full of items,” said James Holliday, the student ministry pastor. “They were gone in two minutes.” He said students at Potomac Crest had prepared the original bags to give to homeless people before the storm was even an issue, not realizing they would have a sudden need so shortly after.

Since the Red Cross cannot accept item donations for the flood victims, Holliday said Potomac Crest wanted to step in and help fill that need.
