Strasburg to Pitch for P-Nats Friday

Washington Nationals pitcher Steven Strasburg will continue his rehab assignment in a start for the class A Potomac Nationals Friday night.

that Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg will continue his rehab assignment in a start for the class A Potomac Nationals Friday night. Strasburg will take the mound in the opener of a three-game series against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.

Strasburg pitched to a 2.91 ERA last year in his rookie season with the Washington Nationals before undergoing Tommy John surgery in September.

Strasburg's first rehab start came Sunday with the Hagerstown Suns in Maryland, where he pitched one and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on three hits. Strasburg threw 25 of his 31 pitches for strikes.

The Pfitzner Stadium gates will open at 5 p.m. on Friday, and the first 2,000 fans will get a raffle ticket to win a game-worn autographed Strasburg jersey. Friday is also Ian Desmond bobblehead night for the first 1,000 fans.
