School Calendar Changes in Prince William County
Snow day sacrifices include longer school day, one less day for Spring Break and more.
With snow (mostly) out of the forecast, this will hopefully be the last update to the school calendar.
The Prince William County School Board approved changes to the calendar to make up for 13 school closings and six days were school opened two hours late.
The full list of changes include:
- Extended school day by 10 minutes beginning March 31
- Shortened elementary school recess to 10 minutes each day
- New school days March 31 and April 21
- June 17-18 are full school days
- June 19 is a school day, with high schools on an exam schedule and elementary and middle schools released one hour early
