Police say the teacher was accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl.

A teacher at Beville Middle School is being accused of inappropriately touching a female student.

Lawrence Eric Lucchetti, 33, of 5623 Derby Ct #204 in Alexandria, was arrested Friday and charged with taking indecent liberties by a custodian and aggravated sexual battery.

Prince William County Police say Lucchetti is alleged to have inappropriately touched the student, a 12-year-old girl, while she was in his charge as a student.

Police spokesman Jonathan Perok said details about the incident would not be released, but said that there were no witnesses to the incident that he knew of. Perok also said that the nature of the touching could not have been mistaken or confused with discipline.

Luchetti was hired as a social sciences teacher at Beville in 2002, and had been a gifted education teacher since 2009, according to Prince William County Public Schools spokeswoman Irene Cromer. Luchetti has been placed on administrative leave without pay during the investigation, Cromer said.
