Ribbon Cutting for New Elementary School Sidewalk is Tuesday

A 1,130 foot sidewalk at Bel Air Elementary School was completed on Aug. 24.

At 8:15 a.m. tomorrow, the new 1,130 foot sidewalk across from Bel Air Elementary School will be officially celebrated by a ribbon cutting.

Neabsco district supervisor John D. Jenkins will be hosting the ribbon cutting along with "several key County officials," according to a release from Jenkins' office.

"Supervisor Jenkins used money from his TRIP (Transportation & Roadway Improvement Program) funds to install the sidewalk," said a release. "The sidewalk is along Ferndale Road and extends from Forestdale Ave to Fresno Drive. With the excessive amount of foot traffic in this area from students and citizens and no place for them to walk, Supervisor Jenkins felt that it was essential to have a sidewalk constructed in order to provide a safe mode of pedestrian access to the school."
