Ask the Candidate: Virginia's 11th Congressional District

You asked, 11th District hopefuls answer your questions ahead of Nov. 6 elections.

You asked, and now candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives in Virginia's 11th District are here to answer your questions in Patch's Ask the Candidate series.

Receiving solid questions on local issues from our readership, Patch submitted the same 10 questions to each of the six candidates who will be on the ballot come Nov. 6: incumbent Gerry Connolly (D), Republican Chris Perkins, Independents Mark Gibson and Chris Decarlo, the Green Party's Joe Galdo and Independent Green Party candidate Peter Marchetti.

Four of those candidates — Connolly, Perkins, Gibson and DeCarlo — responded.

Candidates were given two weeks to submit their responses and asked to keep them a total of 2,500 words for all 10 questions.

Check back each day to read the candidates' answers. They'll run one at a time in reverse alphabetical order each day this week. (Candidates names will be linked when their responses go live).

Oct. 16 – Chris Perkins (Republican)

Oct. 17 – Mark Gibson (Independent)

Oct. 18 – Chris DeCarlo (Independent)

Oct. 19 – Gerry Connolly (Democrat)

If you, like me, are ready to "throw all the bums out," check out Mark Gibson. He is refreshingly specific and pragmatic with his platform.
