The economy, jobs and business set the tone as Del. Rich Anderson kicked off his reelection campaign for the Virginia House of Delegates with help from Governor Bob McDonnell.

The campaign event for the delegate seeking his second term was hosted by Prince William Coles District Supervisor Marty Nohe at the appliance store he owns, a business held up multiple times throughout the day as a model of the small businesses necessary for economic recovery.

McDonnell touted the commonwealth's budget surplus and unemployment rate relative to the rest of the nation, and said that sustaining the economic recovery will take the help of people like Anderson.

Anderson thanked his supporters and pointed out that 13 pieces of legislation he sponsored in his first term were passed by the General Assembly, including an "E-verify" bill and a bill to use inmate labor to maintain highway rest stops.

Anderson said that in his first term, he had focused on military and veterans legislation and transportation issues. Going forward, he would like to have more involvement in economic issues, he said.
