Woman Arrested on Malicious Wounding Charges

Doretha Wright, 62, of Dale City, was charged with two counts of malicious wounding.

A Dale City woman is accused of cutting two acquaintances with a knife on Wednesday, Prince William County Police said. 

Doretha Wright, 62, of the 13600 block of Kerrydale Road in Dale City, was charged with two counts of malicious wounding. Police responded to a report of a fight on Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m. near Kerrydale Road and Dale Boulevard. A 39-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman told police they were in the area when they started to argue with Wright over an ongoing dispute. 

"During the encounter, the accused pulled out a knife from her vehicle and cut both victims to the upper body," Officer Jonathan Perok, a police spokesperson, said in a press release.

The two victims were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Police said that Wright was arrested without further incident. She was held without bond.
