Weekly police updates for Feb. 26: burglary, armed robbery, felony hit and run.

Jewelry valued at about $1,800 was reported stolen from a Dale City home on Wednesday, according to Prince William County Police.

Police said the homeowner in the 13100 block of Kurtz Road reported that the burglary had taken place between 10:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb 23. Entry had apparently been made through a rear door which police said appeared to have been pried open.

Armed Robbery

A man was held up at gunpoint while walking near the intersection of Dale Boulevard and Mapledale Avenue on Wednesday, police said.

The victim reported to police that four unknown men approached him and one displayed a handgun. The other men searched the victim’s pockets and took cash before fleeing the area. Police said the investigation is continuing.

Felony Hit and Run

A man was charged with felony hit and run after fleeing from a crash at the intersection of Minnieville Road and Hereford Road on Sunday. 

Police said Eloy Vega, 33, of 14807 Winding Loop in Woodbridge, was driving his 1998 Chevrolet Blazer northbound on Minnieville Road when he crossed over the center line and struck a 2005 Ford Taurus going the opposite direction. Vega’s Blazer flipped and he fled the scene, according to police.

The driver of the Ford Taurus was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police apprehended Vega, who faces charges of felony hit and run, driving on a suspended license and no valid insurance or registration. No court date or bond information was available.
