Four burglaries, two DUI incidents including a crash and a police pursuit, and a fight at the Hylton vs. Potomac high school basketball game.

Burglaries

A PlayStation 3 was stolen from a home in the 3200 block of Gina Place on Thursday after someone broke into the house while the homeowner was there, Prince William County police said. Police responded to a call from the homeowner at 11:39 a.m. that it sounded as if someone were in the house. Police found that the rear basement door had been forced open, and the PlayStation 3, valued around $400, was missing.

Electronics and jewelry worth about $3,000 were reported stolen from a house in the 13400 block of Kerrydale Road Wednesday morning, according to a police report. Police determined that entry had been made to the house through a rear sliding glass door that had been pried open. The homeowner reported that the burglary had taken place between 6:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.

Police said electronics worth $500 were reported stolen from the 3000 block of Arkendale Street last week. The homeowner told police the burglary had happened sometime between 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, and 5:04 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11. Police found no signs of forced entry into the home.

A laptop valued around $400 was reported stolen a home in the 15000 block of Cardin Place on Sunday. Police said entry had been made through a rear sliding glass door that had been smashed. The homeowner reported that the burglary had occurred between 1:45 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

DUI and Child Neglect in Crash

Police arrested Lorenzo Green, 53, of 5569 Riverton Ct. in Woodbridge, on charges of DUI and child neglect after police said Green was involved in a crash with a 9-year-old girl in the back seat of his vehicle. Police said the girl was a family member of Green, but did not specify the relationship. The crash happened in the area of Lindendale Road and Princedale Drive on Jan. 8. Police said the investigation found that Green had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported, and the girl was released to family. Green was held on a $4,000 bond, and his court date is set for February 2.

DUI and Pursuit

Glen Sentell Mitchell, 28, was arrested Jan. 8 on charges of DUI, eluding and no operators license, after police said he failed to stop when officers signaled him near the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Minnieville Road. Police pursued Mitchell, who eventually stopped in the 4600 block of Charlton Court in Woodbridge. Officers arrested Mitchell, who was held without bond. His court date is scheduled for March 8.

Fight at High School Game

No injuries were reported or arrests made after police were called to help break up a fight at the basketball game between C.D. Hylton High School and Potomac High School on Jan. 7. Police said a large fight and several small fights broke out in the cafeteria area of the school during the game. Hylton Principal Carolyn Custard announced that the game was canceled, and police and school officials cleared the grounds after restoring order.
