Teenage Victim Defies Armed Robber

One of the robbers fired a gun in the ground before demanding money, but the victim refused to turn over his property.

Two men tried unsuccessfully to rob a Woodbridge teenager Saturday evening, Prince William County Police said.

An 18-year-old man reported at 5:43 p.m. that he and a friend were on the 4600 block of Witaker Place in Dale City, when two unknown men approached them. One of the men showed a handgun and fired a round into the ground, police said. The man demanded that the teenager hand over his property. The victim refused, and the suspects fled on foot.

No injuries were reported and the men did not take any money. The victim was unable to provide a complete description of the robbers.
