Prince William County Police have arrested a former teacher at a private school in Dale City on charges of raping a student in the 1980s.

Karold Stallard, 77, of Forest Spring Lane in Earlysville, is charged with one count of rape, one count of forcible sodomy, two counts of aggravated sexual battery, and two counts of indecent liberties by a custodian.

On Friday, detectives from the Special Victims Unit began an investigation into a rape reported to have occurred at the Evangel Christian School on Ashdale Ave in Woodbridge between 1982 and 1987.

"The investigation revealed that during this time the victim was sexually abused by the accused, her teacher. The victim, female, was 12 years old at the time when the abuse started in 1982. Some of the alleged offenses were reported to have occurred on school grounds," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said in a press release.

Following an investigation, detectives obtained warrants on Monday and arrested Stallard in Albemarle the same day.
