Rape Accusations Lead to Burglary

After a man was accused of rape, the basement he was renting was broken into in apparent retaliation. The following arrest information was supplied by the Prince William County police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A reported rape and apparent retaliatory break-in in Dale City have two men and two teenage boys facing charges.

Police said that Daniel O’Neal Stewart Jr., 26, of the 4600 block of Pearson Dr, was arrested Wednesday and charged with the rape of a 16-year-old female acquaintance.

Then early Thursday morning, three teenagers were caught breaking into the basement Stewart had been renting, apparently in retaliation against the alleged perpetrator of the sexual assault against the 16-year-old girl, said Prince William County Police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

Lionell Keith Griffin, 18, of 5004 Lynwood Dr., and two juvenile boys were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, burglary and grand larceny. Griffin was also charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor due to the other two involved, a 15-year-old boy of Washington, D.C. and a 17-year-old boy of Woodbridge.

Stewart and Griffin were both held without bond. Court date information was not available for either.
