Former Public Works Employee Charged With Embezzlement

Robin Elaine Bogart, 48, is accused of purchasing a cell phone with a public works account for herself.

A former Prince William County Public Works employee faces embezzlement charges after auditors found she bought a cell phone for herself using a county account, Prince William County Police said.

Robin Elaine Bogart, 48, of Qualls Lane in the Dale City area, was charged and released on a $5,000 secured bond.

Officer Jonathan Merriman, a spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department, said that one of Bogart's responsibilities in the Public Works department was to purchase phones for the agency. During the course of an audit, the auditors found that Bogart purchased a cell phone on that account for herself on Nov. 9, 2011, Merriman said.
