Police: Woman Interfered When Officer Tried to Stop Assault

Adrian Lamar Mackey, 27, and Jennifer Nichole Simpson, 28, both of Dale City, face multiple charges.

A Dale City man faces multiple charges after a woman reported he assaulted her—and another woman faces charges for allegedly interfering with his arrest, Prince William County Police said.

A 23-year-old woman reported at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday that an acquaintance, Adrian Lamar Mackey, of the 3500 block of Buffalo Court in Dale City, had assaulted her after an argument.

"During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim against a wall and began to choke her," Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the police department, said in a press release.

Another person was able to intervene and separate them. When officers arrived, Jennifer Nichole Simpson, who resides at the same address, tried to interfere and pushed one of the officers from behind, Perok said.
