Police Warn of Burglaries

A rash of burglaries in Dale City has police warning residents to deadbolt their doors.

Dale City residents should be especially careful to keep their doors locked and deadbolted following a rash of recent burglaries, Prince William County Police said Friday.

Police said a number of burglaries had occurred between March 30 and May 4, mostly in the evening and night hours. In one of those burglaries, the police said the culprit appeared to have entered through an open door, and in another case, the cuplrit attempted to kick in the front door. In some of the burglaries, the method of entry was unclear.

Suspects have been described as an 18 to 25-year-old male and as a 22-24-year-old male, 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, last seen wearing a gray shirt, black vest and dark pants.

Police strongly urge all residents to secure deadbolts on exterior doors and arm security systems when leaving their home empty.
