Police Updates: Car Chase; Burglary

Police updates for Monday, July 25. The following information was supplied by the Prince William County police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate a conviction.

An Arlington man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence on Sunday after leading police on a brief pursuit.

Alejandro Juan Arellano, 26, of 1021 Arlington Blvd in Arlington, was charged with DUI, felony eluding and driving without a driver’s license.

Police attempted to stop Arenallo's car on Dale Boulevard near Forestdale Plaza, said Prince William County Police spokesman Jonathan Perok. Arellano continued to drive down Dale Boulevard, ignoring the officer's flashing lights and siren before finally stopping near Cloverdale Road, Perok said.

After stopping, Arellano continued to ignore police commands and was arrested.

Arellano's court date and bond information were unavailable.

Burglary

Tools and equipment worth around $3,000 were reported stolen from a home in the 15100 block of Costa Drive on Saturday.

Police said entry appeared to have been made through a lower level window. The homeowner told police the burglary occurred sometime between 8:00 p.m. on July 19 and 12:00 p.m. on July 23.
