Police: Woman Tried to Flee Cruiser, Kicked Officer

Ashley Dominique Foster, of Triangle, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

A local woman tried to make a break for it after she was arrested Saturday, and when she failed, allegedly kicked an officer in the knee, Prince William County Police say.

Ashley Dominique Foster, 23, of Old Triangle Road in Triangle, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

Police said at 5:19 p.m. Nov. 17, officers responded to a report of a disorderly person at the Ashdale Plaza in Dale City. Officers found three people, including Foster, who was arrested and taken to a cruiser, thy said.

"While officers were dealing with other individuals, the accused opened the door to the cruiser and attempted to flee. Officers quickly stopped the accused from fleeing, at which point, the accused kicked one of the officers in the knee," Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the police department, said in a press release. 

The officer reported minor injuries. Foster's court date is set for Dec. 19. She is being held without bond.
