Police: Suspect Let Dog Loose to Attack Teen

Police are looking for the man who unhooked his dog during an argument with the victim.

A man got into an argument with a Woodbridge teenager, then took his dog off the leash to attack him, Prince William County Police said.

An 18-year-old male reported on Oct. 28 at 2:13 p.m. that he was walking in the area of the 12700 block of Colby Drive in Lake Ridge, when an unknown man approached him. The man, who was walking a dog, began to argue with the teenager. He then unhooked the dog, which may have been a pit bull.

The dog chased the victim to a nearby playground and unsuccessfully tried to bite him several times, according to police. The victim and the dog began to struggle, and the dog eventually ran back to the owner. The victim had minor scratches from the incident.
