A police search for drugs at Fred Lynn Middle School in Woodbridge yesterday turned up no results, police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.
Police also searched Graham Park Middle School in Triangle and found nothing.
"These random searches are part of an ongoing effort by the Department, and the Prince William County Schools Office of Risk Management, to ensure that schools remain safe, drug-free environments for students and employees," Perok said.
Officers used drug-detection dogs in the searches.
Chief of Police Charlie Deane said it "is important to send a strong message that drugs in the school will not be tolerated. We hope that these searches will deter people from bringing drugs to school."
