Gunshots Fired in Dale City Area, Police Search for Suspect

The home struck by bullets in the shooting was empty at the time, Prince William County Police said.

Police are looking for someone who reportedly fired several gunshots in the 14600 block of Bakersfield Street on Friday, April 19, before speeding away in a car, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Police initially responded to the neighborhood at 7:24 p.m. for the report of shots fired.

"Multiple callers reported hearing several gunshots and a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed," Perok said. "Officers determined that the shots had been fired from the vehicle and discovered damage to a residence in the above area."

When officers entered the residence, they found that the house was empty at the time of the gunfire. No one was injured.

"Witnesses reported that there were three occupants in the vehicle," Perok said. "Only the driver could be described."

The driver was described as a black man between 25 and 30 years old, of a thin build with shoulder length dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a dark green shirt. The vehicle was described as a greed Ford Escort station wagon with gold door trim and a dent on the back left side.
