Police Looking For Suspect in Armed Robbery Attempt at Dollar Tree

Suspect with a baseball bat attempted to steal night deposit, according to Prince William County Police.

Police are looking for a man who reportedly attempted to rob the Dollar Tree at 13345 Worth Ave in Woodbridge, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.Β 

Police initially responded to the Dollar Tree on March 7 at 10:35 p.m. for a reported attempted robbery.Β 

"An employee reported to police that he just closed the business and was walking to his vehicle in the parking lot with the night deposit when he was approached by an unknown man," Perok said. "The suspect was holding a bat and demanded the money. A physical altercation ensued between the employee and the suspect. Following a brief struggle, the accused fled the area on foot."

No one was injured and no money was taken. Police used a K-9 unit to search for the suspect, but found no one. Police are looking for a black male in his early 50s, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 190 pounds, of a medium build with an unshaven face. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket with blue jeans and white shoes.
