Police ID Victim of Fatal Crash, Say Speed Was Factor

Prince William County Police identified the driver killed in a crash on Minnieville Road on Tuesday and said he lost control of his vehicle.

The driver killed in a Tuesday was driving above the posted speed limit and lost control of his vehicle, Prince William County Police spokesman Jonathan Perok said.

Police have identified the driver as Stephen Agyin, 28, of Woodbridge. Perok said that a police investigation showed that Agyin was headed southbound when he lost control of his 1992 Toyota Camry and drove off the right side of the road. Agyin then overcorrected and drove into the northbound lane, colliding with an oncoming Prince William County school bus.

The collision caused the school bus to run off the road and hit a tree. The school bus driver, a 45-year-old woman from Manassas, was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. There were no children on board the school bus at the time.

Agyin was pronounced dead at the scene. Perok said he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and that alcohol was not a factor.
