Police: Pawn City Employee Stabbed Twice in the Neck in Dale City

A Dumfries man was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, Prince William County Police said.

Police charged a Dumfries man with aggravated malicious wounding after a Pawn City employee in Dale City was reportedly stabbed twice in the neck on March 7, Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

Andre Paul Poindexter, 20, was arrested that same day. Police initially responded on at 1:16 p.m. to the Pawn City at 4124 Dale Blvd for the report of a robbery.

"The investigation revealed that a known customer to the business, identified as the accused, was in the process of completing a transaction with the victim, a 62-year-old man of Burke," Perok said. "The victim is an employee of the business. After completing the transaction, the accused displayed a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck. The victim fell to the ground, at which point, the accused got over the counter and stabbed the victim a second time. The victim was able to retrieve a firearm causing the accused to flee the business in a vehicle."

The victim was taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening. Violent Crimes Bureau identified a suspect and found his vehicle near River Ridge Blvd. 

"A traffic stop was conducted on Wayside Drive where the accused was detained without incident," Perok said. After an investigation, Poindexter was arrested. His court date is April 23, and he is being held without bond.
