Witnesses have told Virginia State Police that a man fell out of a dark, late-model sedan on northbound Intertstate 95 on Thursday evening.
At 6:50 p.m., the rear passenger-side door of the car opened and a man fell out of the vehicle near mile marker 156, said VSP public relations manager Corinne Geller via email.
“The man was then dragged by the vehicle for more than 200 feet before dropping into the roadway,” said Geller. “The sedan continued north on Interstate 95.”
The man who was dragged has been identified as a 35-year-old Dale City man. He was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
VSP are still trying to determine if the man was thrown or jumped from the moving vehicle; the incident remains under investigation.
Anyone with information about the vehicle or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call the Virginia State Police at 703-803-0026. The vehicle involved reportedly was a dark, late-model sedan with two black males and one white male inside. The injured man was a fourth person inside the vehicle.
