Prince William County Fire and Rescue firefighters at Dale City Volunteer Fire Department Station 13 took advantage of the good weather Thursday to conductlow rope training exercises. Lt. Rob Faye said "It's not often in mid-February we ge to open our bays and do this kind of training."
Faye said the exercise teaches a skill that firefighters have available to them, but don't expect to use because it's safer and more efficient to climb ladders or to lower a rescuer to a patient from above. Nevertheless, Faye said the training is helpful. "It's a tool in the toolbox," he said.
