Neglect Charges After Toddlers Found Wandering

Three-year-old and one-year-old boys left the house by themselves.

The following arrest information was provided by the Prince William County police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Dale City man is facing charges of child neglect and abuse after police said two toddler boys in his care wandered outside when he fell asleep.

A witness reported to police on Friday morning that two young boys were wandering in the neighborhood on their own in the 4600 block of Central Park Drive. Police found the boys, ages 3 and 1, and found their home nearby. Police said a 24-year-old family member who was supposed to be watching the children was asleep inside the home.

Benjamin Michael Libby Sr., 24, was charged with two counts of felony child abuse and neglect. His court date and bond information were not released.

The children were turned over to other family members.
