Man Finds Four Burglars in Home

Prince William County police are still searching for the four suspects.

A Dale City resident caught four men in the act of breaking into his home, but the suspects are still at large, Prince William County Police said.

The homeowner reported Thursday at 1:32 a.m. that he had observed four unknown men behind his home on the 14300 block of Westminster Lane. He then ran to a neighbor's house, where he called the police.

"The men forced entry into the residence through a rear sliding glass door which had been broken out," Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the police department, said in a press release. "Police arrived and checked the residence. No suspects were located."

A gaming console and game, valued around $300, were reported missing.

Police are on the lookout for:

  • a black male about 5'5", 150 pounds, 18-23 years old, black hair and thin build
  • a black male about 5'8", thin build, 18-23 years old, 155 pounds, black hair, 18-23 years old
  • a black male about six feet tall, 18-23 years old, medium build, 180 pounds, black hair
  • a black male about 170 pounds, 5'10", 18-23 years old, black hair, medium build

All had their faces covered and were wearing black clothing.

PWCPD are doing their job, believe me!! My question is this activity unusual in this area or has it just been getting reported? What is the community doing about their neighborhood? I emplore my residents to be active, report suspicious activity, no matter how minor you may think it is, could be a missing link to an unreported crime.

The politicians here will say crime rates are down. The RATE may be down but only because the population has gone up and they compute it by per capita. However, having lived here 20 years, I can say that the NUMBER of crimes has risen substantially. If I knew then, what I know now - never would have moved to Dale City and bought a house.
