Family Members Charged in River Run Murder

Three family members have been charged as accessories to murder in the death of a 75-year-old Dale City man.

Three family members have been arrested and charged in connection with the as part of a $1 million insurance fraud scheme, investigators said Monday.

Jung Min Jun, 58, of Fresh Meadows, NY, was arrested Friday at the Newark airport as he attempted to board a flight to Beijing.

Jun is charged as an accessory to murder in the death of his brother-in-law, Kwang Sup Hur. Hur was found dead in his apartment at the River Run Senior Apartments in Dale City on Sept. 1.

Hur’s sister-in-law, Jung Ok Jun, and nephew, Ho Young Jun, were arrested Sunday and both are also facing charges of accessory to murder. Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney Paul Ebert said that once the accused are brought to Prince William County, he expects one of them to face charges upgraded to murder.

One of the accused was the beneficiary of the victim's insurance, and Ebert said all of them stood to gain from the scheme.

Ebert said the investigation is ongoing, but the county wanted to release the arrest information as soon as possible to ease the safety concerns of residents in the area of the River Run apartments.
