Argument Leads to Attack, Hit and Run

A Dale City man was charged with hit and run after police said he chased the victim with his car.

A dispute led to multiple charges last week after police said a man smashed a car window with a tire iron, then pursued the victim in his own car, crashing into the victim's car in the process.

Carlos Roberto Solorzano, 31, of the 4700 block of Kellogg Dr., was charged with felony hit and run and felony destruction of property. Police said that early in the morning of Jan. 11, Solorzano got into an argument with the woman he shared a home with. The woman left their house and drove to the McDonald's on Mapledale Avenue.

There, the woman met up with a friend, whose car she got into. Police said Solorzano approached the car with a tire iron and smashed one of the car's windows. The woman and her friend drove away with Solorzano following behind in his vehicle. Police said Solorzano used his car to sideswipe the other vehicle near the intersection of Dale Boulevard and Minnieville Road.

The collision spun out both vehicles and forced Solorzano's car off the road into the ditch. The occupants of the other vehicle drove away and contacted police. When police arrived on the scene, they said Solorzano had fled his vehicle on foot, but was soon located a short distance away in the woods. No one was reported injured in the incident.

Solorzano was held on a $3,500 secured bond. His court date was not released.
