, one Dale City home had $10,000 worth of goods and a car stolen, while another home had $5,000 worth of items stolen in a break-in. In one case, a rear basement window had been broken out, and in the second, the rear sliding glass door had been broken.

Prince William County Police spokesman Jonathan Perok said there was no evidence to suggest the three burglaries were related, but said that it is not uncommon for higher value items to be stolen around the holiday season. Perok said that guns should always be locked in a gun safe, and said that a small personal safe for items such as expensive jewelry can help protect belongings.
