2 Charged in Strong Armed Robbery

Two victims were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated, according to police.

An adult and a teenager have been charged with robbery and additional charges after an altercation Monday night. 

Police have charged Tameeka Lashawn Mason, 34, and a 14-year-old boy after police responded to the 14800 block of Darbydale Avenue for a robbery. 

An investigation revealed that two victims, 14 and 15, were involved in a verbal altercation with a group of suspects which escalated.

"During the encounter, the suspects physically assaulted both victims and relieved them of an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency and running shoes before fleeing the area," said police public information officer Jonathan Perok in a release. "One of the suspects was later identified as the accused male juvenile. The investigation further revealed the group of suspects were transported to and from the above area by the adult suspect. The victims sustained minor non-life threatening injuries."

Mason, of Woodbridge, was charged with two counts of robbery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Her court date is unavailable and she is being held without bond, according to police reports. 

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of assault by mob. He is being held at a juvenile detention facility. Police said the incident does not appear to be random.
