Dale City Comes Together for July 4th Parade

In a diverse and busy community, it's great to see a show of unity.

Dale City's annual Fourth of July Parade is a remarkable event. It's wonderful to see thousands of people lining Dale Boulevard, spending time with their families and neighbors. It really brings the community together in a way not often seen.

Volunteers spent a week cleaning up and trimming grass toΒ get Dale Boulevard ready for the parade. Tuesday, volunteers will once again hit the street to clean up after the parade.

These volunteers and many more people worked hard to put together an event that thousands of people came out to enjoy.

Thanks to the Dale City Civic Association, Parade Chairman Ernestine Jenkins, the parade committee and DCCA President Connie Moser for all their work. The DCCA also set up a great "Family Fun Day" event following the parade with games, prizes and food.

I talked to several people who had never come to the parade before despite living nearby. Hopefully the parade and Family Fun Day will continue to grow and flourish in the future.
