IKEA Gives Local Domestic Violence Shelter $10K For Remodeling

After winning an online voting contest, local charity ACTS Domestic Violence Shelter received $10,000 from IKEA to remodel their space.

This award was part of the IKEA Life Improvement Project for 2013, in which each IKEA store in the country gave $10,000 to a local charity.

The ACTS Domestic Violence Shelter provides a safe place to children and adults left homeless because of domestic violence. Locations are confidential.

“By making this contribution, IKEA Woodbridge coworkers are able to support the local community for those families in crisis with a comfortable place to call home for a while," said Jackie DeChamps, IKEA Woodbridge Store Manager.
