Elmo for President? Mock Elections to Test New Voting Equipment

County election officials weighing two new machines.

Prince William County Election officials have a question for you: Batman or Superman?

With touch-screen machines aging out, officials will be trying out two versions of a new paper-ballot system in a mock election on Friday and Saturday.

Other questions include a replacement name for the Washington Redskins and the best Sesame Street character for public office? Take a look at the mock election ballot.

“We feel like we’ve identified two very competent machines that we think the voters here in Prince William County will like," said Doug Geib, the Prince William County general registrar. "We hope that the public takes interest in what kind of voting machines are going to be used in the future in Prince William County, and this is their chance for a hands-on experience with them.”

The mock election will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the A.J. Ferlazzo Building, 15941 Donald Curtis Drive in Woodbridge and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Manassas Mall, 8300 Sudley Road.
