Teens Charged with Murder Plot

A teenage girl and her boyfriend have been accused of stealing a gun and planning to murder the girl's family members.

A teenage girl and her boyfriend were arrested Sunday after police said they plotted to murder the girl's family members with a stolen handgun.

Police said that the gun was reported missing on Aug. 14 from a home in the 5600 block of Saint Charles Drive in Dale City. During the course of the investigation, police said they discovered that a 16-year-old girl in the family had stolen the gun and made death threats against her family.

Investigators discovered letters between the girl and her 17-year-old boyfriend planning how they would carry out the threats, said Prince William County Police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
