Smoked Salmon Recalled at Costco

A number of illnesses reported in the Netherlands and states.

Customers who have purchased Kirkland brand smoked salmon from Costco are being alerted this week that it may possibly contain traces of salmonella, according to an article posted on Newsday.

The recall follows an investigation which followed hundreds of people in the Netherlands who reportedly became sick after consuming the product.

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Lola Russell was quoted in the article saying that the federal agency has recorded 85 cases from 27 states starting July 1. A possible link between the two cases is currently being investigated.
