Galt Court Fire Leaves Two Firefighters Injured

The three townhouses damaged have been deemed unsafe by the building official.

Yesterday's townhouse fire at Galt Court left two firefighters with minor injuries after they were briefly trapped by the fire, said Kim Hylander, Public Information Specialist with the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue.

Firefighters were dispatched to Galt Court at about 2 p.m.Β

"Upon arriving on the scene, fire and rescue units observed fire showing from the side and rear of the structure," Hylander wrote in the release. "A firefighter 'Mayday' was called when the fast moving fire momentarily trapped firefighters while operating inside the residence. Due to the swift actions by fire and rescue units on the scene, the firefighters were successfully rescued and sustained only minor injuries."
