Dale City Kmart Survives Store Closings

Local stores were not be among the 80 Sears and Kmart stores that the parent company recently announced will be closed, but some stores could still be announced.

After disappointing holiday sales, Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SHLD) reported it would close up to 120 stores nationwide. The Illinois-based retailer released a list of 80 of those stores, which included only three stores in Virginia, and said that further closings would be announced at a later date.

Sears Holdings Corporation has more than 4,000 retail stores in the United States and Canada. The company reports being the leading home appliance retailer.
