Weekend Planner: Football, Water Day, & Concert

Where/When: Independent Hill Sports Complex 14811 Dumfries Rd, Saturday August 6, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Why Go: American Pride Youth Football, serving Dale City, Woodbridge, Occoquan, Lake Ridge, Manassas, Dumfries and Triangle, is holding walk up registration for youth football ages 7-16 and Cheerleading ages 5-16.

Where/When: , 2001 Daniel K Ludwig Dr, Saturday August 6, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Why Go: Come out to the Visitor Center at Leesylvania State Park for a four mile hike to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. Enjoy activity tables, prizes from local sponsors, and informational tables about the cause after your hike. 

Pricing: $25 per person.

Where/When: , 2201 Opitz Blvd, Saturday August 6, 2:00 p.m.

Why Go: Escape the summer heat and enjoy fun water games at Potomac Community Library. Be sure to wear a swimsuit or clothes you don't mind getting wet, and every participant must wear shoes (sneakers, sandals, or flip flops). Don't forget to bring a towel and sunscreen. There is a 60 person limit for this event.

Pricing: Free, but every participant must have a ticket.

Why Go: Come out for a performance by the Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra. Be sure to bring a blanket and chairs and enjoy this musician-run orchestra.

 Where/When: , 2001 Daniel K Ludwig Dr, Saturday August 6, 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Why Go: Come to the Leesylvania State Park Visitor Center to see the kinds of games children played during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Participants will be able to play a few innings of Town Ball, race hoops, and play a game called Graces. This is a great event for children ages 4 years old and up.
