Why Go:  Enjoy a nice night out with cocktails (served from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.), dinner and dancing while you help raise funds for cancer aid and research. The silent auction will include hand-crafted items, dinners out, personal services, events, and furniture. An elegant dinner buffet will begin at 8:00 and world famous Doc Scantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra will provide music for dancing. Formal Dress/Black Tie optional.

There is a of the silent auction Friday night for attendees to see what items will be sold.

Why Go: On March 26, 2001, an apparent act of arson at the Dale City Neighborhood Library caused severe damage that forced the library to close. The library remained closed until November 13, 2001. Visit the library this weekend to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the fire and the library’s strong recovery!

Why Go: Kids who love LEGOs are invited out to a LEGO Racers event. This is an interactive racing event, and space is limited, so call the store for more details on this ultimate LEGO experience: 703-897-8100.

4. American Festival Pops Orchestra

Where/When: Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, Saturday March 26, 8:00 p.m.

Why Go:  This remarkable orchestra of D.C. area musicians made its debut last season, and it was an immediate hit. This spring, American Festival Pops Orchestra comes to the Hylton to present a delightful selection of popular American music, performing favorites from television, movies, and Broadway by such well-known composers as John Williams, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, and Marvin Hamlisch.

Why Go: Head out to the track at Potomac High School and cheer on the Varsity Coed Track team of as the Bulldogs take on the Panthers.
